My number one choice in casual footwear is always Converse, largely due to the design and fit. But I recognise that not everything they produce is gold standard and this is true here.
Modelled on the classic style plimsoll or tennis shoe, many top manufacturers have a version, and it has to be said that Converse's overall effort is not up there with the best.
For those with a wider foot, you will find that the fit is on the snug side as the trainer tapers in towards the toes - contrary to the original design, and observed by most other manufacturers.
However, for quality and durability, they will probably outlast those rival products.
